Dating Advice News Column
Not wanting to date out of race=racism?
I was reading our local paper today, and the advice column had a white lady asking if she was racist for not wanting to date a black man that she was set up with on a blind date by her friends.
The advice lady said that it was not a case of being unattracted to the guy, but, rather, being unattracted to the race, which indeed was racism.
What do you guys think? Does being unwilling to date outside your race make you a racist?
That’s nonsense! Someone should write into that column and correct this columnist for giving that poor woman bad advice. No one should feel forced to date someone they aren’t attracted to out fear of being a racist. It’s preference. I’m not attracted to women; does that make me a homophobe? Of course not. I can appreciate a woman’s beauty and all of my best friends have always been women, but i will NEVER date a woman.
The woman who wrote in may be a racist and she may not; but the sheer act of not being attracted to black men does NOT make her a racist.
And THIS, is the opinion of someone in an interracial marriage.
