Is it legal to sell information I have through email?

If I develop a system or an ebook or a product I’d like to sell and don’t feel like making a website for it or selling it on ebay…
Can I sell it through email?

For example. Someone on a forum needs dating advice. I have a ebook on dating (written by myself, but with no copywrite) .. Can I tell them to email me for more information, then have them send me money through US mail to my address, OR through paypal to recieve the information via email?

I’m not trying to scam, I just want a faster, easier and more personal way to sell my stuff. Ebay is tedious and has so much red tape. Starting my own website is even more time consuming and tedious. However, I am willing to do that if I have to.

If you put up an ad (of sorts) on the FORUMS, or on several Yahoo Groups, promoting your Ebook, then you are OK.

If you take the names and email addresses of people you dont know, and try to do a “mass-mailing” to see if you get any “bites”, is a reall no-no. That’s considered SPAM.

Your idea of asking people on the Forums if they would be interested in your Ebook, is alright. You are offering information. People (if interested), will email You for the information. This is legal, as they are requesting information.

First thing you Need to do is make 2 hard copies of your Ebook. Mail 1 copy to yourself. When it gets delivered, Do Not open it !! Put it away in a safe place. This shows proof of, and a date of ownership, and should you get a copyright for the information, this will come in handy.

If you decide to place an ad with the Yahoo Groups, just email me and I will send you a list of Groups I belong to, to help you get started.

Next — there are several ways to accept payment for your Ebook(s). – - – Money Orders, Paypal, or the new alternative R.M.E. and it is FREE, not like Paypal that charges you fees!( email me, and I will send you the referal link).

At any rate, online payments is better than waiting for the money to be mailed to you.
