Dating Advice Jewish
advice what to do about this? (help!)?
My friend is from a really conservative jewish family and she does EVERYTHING the exact opposite of them. Her parents don’t believe in interracial dating and are rather homophobic and for the past 3 years shes been dating a hispanic girl who her parents hate. Shes only 16 and she goes out drinking, smokes pot with her friends and her parents are upset cause shes had sex with her girlfriend. Her parents also hate the way she dresses because she refuses to dress the traditional jewish way and wears short shorts and tank tops. She doesn’t dress slutty, but her parents still hate it. Do you think shes only doing this to rebel against her parents and her faith (which she doesn’t seem to care about and she spent christmas day with her girlfriend’s family)?
It sounds like rebellion which is normal. Everyone wants to challenge their parents and their values at some point. But you say this relationship has been going on for 3 years. So that sounds like a little more than just a rebellion. Have you ever asked her why she doesn’t like to follow her faith anymore? Do you think she really loves this girl that she is dating?
